All of our western states contain remnants of 19th century townsites and mining camps. These map sets by state, are an excellent guide to finding their locations. Many towns will not be there, but finding the original site and exploring the area can be very rewarding. Each state is represented by a series of maps showing what the state looked like in the late 1800s with a clear overlay showing modern roads and highways. They are great for locating old town sites, early roads, railroads and forts. Each set contains several maps. Select your state from the drop down menu.
