Our Country is Full of Hidden Stories and Treasures - Treat Them Gently!
A large part of the western states of America are Public Lands administered by various Government Agencies - our lands. Before prospecting always make sure your activities are not restricted by any particular ordinances (dredging, metal detecting, etc.). As much as possible, return the prospected area to the same appearance when finished, this is often mandatory even on Public Lands. If you prospect private lands, always have permission of the owner before starting and make sure you are in agreement to terms of possession of anything found. Again, leave the land as you found it, you may want to return again. May your Treasure Hunting be successful and something you will always remember!
